Era to era gets storm ready.

Ranchers have always prepared for storms. Extra hay is put out, tanks are filled to the brim, young and older animals are brought to the barns.

Their homes have extra firewood piled up, generators are full of fuel with more fuel supply ready for the long haul. Extra bread is baked, beans cooked up, and extra water is ready if needed.

When ranchers wives work away from home they may or may not follow tradition. It is not that big of a deal to survive on sandwiches for a few days. You can even prepare the sandwiches without using a single dish.

No power. I like using tuna because it has more protein. Tear off a paper towel, lay your bottom slice of bread down, dump a single pack of tuna, then a squeeze, of pickle relish, squeeze of miracle whip, add a slice of cheese, slap a top slice of bread on and eat it. You could cut an avacado and smash it on your tuna too. We eat apples, pears, and bananas with sandwiches. You can use rubbing alcohol to wipe your knife clean. Without power you can't wash dishes.

You get protein, carbs, and fiber eating tuna sanwiches Drink water to stay hydrated. To make your food last longer layer up inside to keep from using up body heat. You should move around by rearranging a bookshelf, dust the window sills, and other small tasks that don't require power.

Get out the cards for a game by candle light. Coloring is a good family activity that can last for hours  Hide and seek is fun too. Blanket forts help  keeping warm fun for the little ones. Heck let them wear the snow boots in the house.

You will survive.

Quiet Power Luxury - A better Rural America the Cooperative Way

People arise to the sound of an electronic alarm in the wee hours of the morning. They swing out of bed to go flip a switch for light or the lights are controlled through wireless devices to come on at a certain time of the day.  Some hit the start button on the Keurig; others start browsing the Internet via a smart device. Power and communications is still a luxury taken for granted.

Imagine waking up on your own, lighting a fireplace for light, heat, and to warm coffee. The homeless and those who live in the poorest underdeveloped areas all over the world do not have light, heat, nor communications to connect with the world.

Being in the sandwich generation with parents who were raised in the era before electricity and telephones were a common household necessity, you learned early on to appreciate having power and communications.  A household with both electricity and a telephone was a luxury in the early 1900's. Rural America survived and progressed because of futurist and survivalist. They formed cooperatives to build a better rural America.

Investor owned utilities (IOU) didn't invest in rural America early on except in towns maybe.  The IOU's may have or may not have kept up improvements on the infrastructures over the years. As rural member owned Cooperatives acquired some of the IOU infrastructures the cooperative way continued with improvements for safer and more reliable power and communications as we know today.

As you shut off the lights and power down those electronics tonight think about being fortunate to be a member of two great futurist Cooperatives of 70 years in the Oklahoma Panhandle. 

Vengeance by Vote

The 2016 version Magnificent 7 could be viewed as a movie of vengeance.  And the oppressed town bullied by a man without a conscience could have rightfully carried out their plan with a leader.  

The leader Sam Chisolm chose six other men to be on his team to get the town back for the oppressed.  Oddly enough each man on the team had a unique background with different skills or reasons to help carry out the master plan. The gambler, Joshua Faraday, who liked explosives, a Confederate veteran and sharpshooter, Goodnight Robicheaux, a tracker and mountain man, Jack Horne, an Asian immigrant with  knife-wielding assassin skills, Billy Rocks, a Mexican outlaw Vasquez, and Red Harvest, an exiled Comanche warrior. Eventually the woman, Emma Cullen, who hired Chisolm steps up several times to help get the community back and to destroy the bully, Bartholomew Bogue. 

In the end Red Harvest the exiled Comanche warrior terminates another exiled Comanche warrior Denali who works for Bogue with the words "You are a disgrace."

Today's society is lashing out with protests, destroying businesses, shooting other people, road rage, and other methods of violence.  Entitlement to a wife, a job, a neighborhood, a lifestyle also contributes to horrific crimes that are beyond the mainstay America's process of thinking.  The divided oppressed today are protected by the constitution. The law of the land is interpreted differently by all. 

Vengeance can be obtained peacefully too. Citizens of the United States of America have the privilege to vote. Your vote is your voice to change many things in the United States. By choosing to not vote you are remaining oppressed.

Diversification can be divided or it can be united for vengeance. The Magnificent 7 was very diversified yet they were one when it came time to stand up for the oppressed town who needed a leader.

Vote. Your vote is what it will take to unite diversification to stand together for the strength that is needed to keep this great nation of ours One Nation for All.

Branded Streetwalker

Branding is often associated with cattle ranch brands and worldwide product or service brands. Before the open range times the Native Americans used various methods to 'mark' tainted squaws or warriors who became traitors. In the biblical times diseased people were often outcast outside of the city gates branding them as outcasts.

Cultures throughout the world have used forms of branding throughout history marking people for one reason or another. Today's world gang members are branded by using a signature tattoo. Pimps may mark their streetwalkers for not collecting enough money from johns or for working another pimp corner. Society brands people by culture, education, religion, economic levels, way of dressing, talking and association with other people.

The entire world is made of branded streetwalkers. You are a branded streetwalker. The question is which branded streetwalker are you?

In the everyday life, some are fortunate to be branded well liked by all in the community or neighborhood. It is because they are good at meeting people, making everyone feel welcome, taking pride by taking care of their property by keeping the junk hauled to the recycle center instead of the alleyway or inside of their privacy fence. When the entire neighborhood takes care of property it helps eliminates rodents which destroy property and carry disease. These people are also branded as financially well off even though they hire no one to keep up the property. The neighborhood gets along well because they have common courtesy towards one another.

Families are often branded by the family black sheep.  This type of branding can be challenging for siblings, offspring, even distant relations.

Young adults are often branded by interests, appearance, and activities and association with others.

Employees are branded by where they work. Businesses are branded by how well established it is, how it helps others and the community along with treating employees well. Likewise, shady business practices can also brand employees.

Religion, faith or non religion can also brand people whether it is by denomination or through the non-traditional practices.

Branding is permanent. Or is it?

The Choice is Yours

State questions, policy questions, and even candidate platforms can be confusing. If you are leery of opinion polls, radical media views or other sources, don't let this keep you from being a good citizen.

Do check out statements made by candidates as they may be running on one agenda and one agenda only.  You may agree with one agenda. Don't be a follower for one agenda.  The overall health of a state is always at stake to come together to lead with the other 49 states in the union.

The words big money and big government have always been used to win votes.  What does that really mean? Is the issue at hand really affected  by big money or big government? Very few real issues are bought by money.  The real issues are debated on the legislative floor to conclude the most workable solution. There are also laws that prohibit the desires of the people and unless the law is changed the desire cannot be initiated.

It is your choice. - Vote! June 28.

If you want your voice to be heard - vote. No other nation in the world has a democratic government like the United States.

Remember the government works for you.  If you don't vote it is the same as saying nothing or taking no action to stabilize, improve or to lead.

Is leadership obstreperous?

Great leaders are differential. Great organizations are differential. Leaders are surrounded by teams with aptitude. Organizations are teams of mastery. Leaders and teams work towards a common purpose.

Leadership is an overrated word. The everyday person is a leader in their range of life.
