Celebrations of life are definitely better than revering one's passing on from mortal life.
A good friend to many passed recently. Her family chose to celebrate her legacy with great memories and a host of living relatives and younger friends. It was mentioned several times the memory of her faith and laugh, telling it like it is, a magnificent cook and lots of hugs and kisses.
The stories had us all laughing out loud and nodding our heads in agreement. It became evident once more life goes too fast to enjoy sometimes. The sermon the next morning by our lay leader mentioned having a relationship with God, is being thankful and faithful.
Life is fast paced with children and adults never stopping to breath in and out. The instant results wherever one may be is how the culture rolls.
Could instant temporary gratification be the root of many of today's mental and health issues? Look around the happiest people garden, run, work out, hike, walk, play sports, play cards, sew, read books, visit the aging in care centers, cook, sing, play musical instruments, ride horses, volunteer helping others, build and design accessories to help the physically challenged, blow bubbles, make mud pies and attend church.
Stop because life is good. There is goodness here on earth. We can be the goodness.
Those signs that say "Live, Love, Laugh", mean what they say.
Blow bubbles.
